Job Introduction

Here at BPP Education Group, we have a dedicated Group Education Services department whose main role is to provide a range of services to support schools and individual students and learners in achieving successful outcomes.

 

Within our main student centres we offer a Library and Information Service, which provides students with access to all the information and resources they will need to succeed on their programme of study. As such, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a student-focused, highly organised and experienced Librarian to join the team as a Senior Liaison Librarian.

 

You will be responsible for supporting Law students with their legal research through online and in-person workshops and meetings. You will also support students to confidently and effectively use the resources available to them across various study areas such as Business, Technology and Healthcare.


Please note: this is a hybrid role based in any of our Student Library Centres. Successful applicants would therefore need to based local to; Manchester, London, Leeds, Cambridge, Birmingham or Bristol.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you will work with a team of library professionals and coordinate closely with our Academic Liaison Lead Librarian. You’ll maintain up to date resources on the library website, advise on exploitation of resources (at present these include Lexis, Westlaw among others) and support with the delivery of workshops for students.

 

 

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

  • A qualified librarian
  • A high level of legal research experience, gained in a commercial or academic setting
  • Ability to teach and/or deliver training with confidence, both in person and online
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build successful and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft packages
  • Experience of research within any of these subject areas: business, technology and healthcare/nursing would be advantageous
